Novato-headquartered Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company is celebrating its 150th anniversary that includes a traveling exhibit of historic items from the company’s history.

Founded in San Francisco in 1863, Fireman’s Fund is celebrating a long and colorful history that is intertwined with some of the nation’s most significant events. A timeline chronicles the company’s involvement in events, which include the Great Chicago Fire in 1871, the San Francisco Earthquake in 1906 and the construction of the Hoover Dam in 1931, which can be viewed at
