Hopmonk Tavern Novato is replacing its cancelled Michelle Shocked show on March 29 with a comedy show to benefit the San Rafael-based Spectrum LGBT Center, serving the North Bay.
Shocked, an alternative-folk singer, was cancelled after an alleged anti-gay rant at Yoshi’s in San Francisco.
The replacement show, “Comedy for Equality,” will feature Marga Gomez and Johnny Steele.
Tickets for the show are $20 online or $25 at the door for ages 18 and up. Doors to the Session Room open at 7 p.m and the show begins at 8 p.m.
