      Public Safety Buildings take shape

Significant infrastructure work is underway at the public safety building site at Johnson and Caledonia streets, as metal beams are installed. Councilman Mike Kelly said progress is going well on the project, which hit a few snags when underground fuel-storage tanks were found in the soil last fall. But now the project is back on track, thanks to a lighter rainy season than expected. The new facilities will be delivered in spring 2010. Construction began on the multimillion-dollar police and fire buildings in October.
