The Golden Gate Larkspur Ferry is offering free rides across the San Francisco Bay during the month of August to promote shopping in Marin County.

Ferry riders in San Francisco can hop aboard the ship, cross the Bay and experience upscale shopping and dining at Larkspur’s Marin Country Mart.

Located just a short walk across from the Larkspur Ferry Terminal since 2009, the Marin Country Mart features 20 specialty shops, 13 diverse dining options and hosts special events for all ages, including Friday Night Jazz, Off the Grid food trucks and Saturday morning Farmers’ markets.

Those who visit the Marin Country Mart will also be offered a complimentary ferry ride back to San Francisco. Bicycles are permitted on the ferry, but the offer is not valid for organized groups.

The offer applies to all weekday departures from the Golden Gate San Francisco Ferry Terminal, located behind the Ferry Building at The Embarcadero, between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. and one weekend departure at 12:40 p.m. To secure a free trip, visit goldengate.org and download an official ticket.

The complimentary return rides are available between 10:10 a.m. and 8:50 p.m. at the Larkspur Ferry Terminal. Shoppers can obtain return tickets from any Marin County Mart retailers.
